Autumn Lala was born and raised in small-town Springboro, Ohio on the edge of Main Street and within walking distance of the local library. If you asked Adolescent Autumn though, everything was within walking distance if it mattered enough.
Half of her childhood was spent in the factory of her family’s printing business, while the other half was filled with art, soccer, softball, reading, writing, friends, and family. She's a third generation graphic designer who first learned to code on MySpace while she posted short stories on Quizzaz (now Quotev).
Constantly exploring her childhood curiosities made her a multi-passionate adult. In her heart of hearts, she fell in love with hybridity—in the layered ways one medium could bolster another, and vice versa. When sleep evaded her, she created instead.
By age 18, she completed a two-year technical certification in Graphic Arts & Communications from Warren County Career Center. By 20, she was internationally published in poetry and short fiction. By 24, she had earned a dual-English bachelor’s degree in Rhetoric & Professional Writing and Creative Writing Hybrid Forms from the University of Cincinnati, as well as a master’s degree in Writing & Rhetoric from the University of Dayton. All the while, she kept writing and publishing up into graduate school.
Graduating during the COVID-19 pandemic meant a creative detour, but now Autumn is committed to a 3x3x30 initiative: to draft 3 pieces in 3 different genres by the time she turns 30 in May 2026. Rumor has it, you can find her at her favorite local coffee shop working on her poetry, fiction, or screenwriting.
